Getting Involved with SMART
Thank you for your interest in getting involved with SMART Family Literacy. Volunteers directly contribute to the success of our agency and our ability to make our mission a reality.
Volunteer Opportunities
Individual Volunteer
Our Individual Volunteers work in all facets of the agency: reading to children, SMART parties activities, pumpkin patch and more. Let us help find the right opportunity for you.
STEP 1: Sign up to volunteer below.
*All volunteer applicants ages 18 and older will need to pass a background check prior to volunteering.
STEP 2: Speak with SMART! Once you've submitted below and your background check has cleared, staff will reach out to you to speak about your interest and begin to determine which volunteer opportunities could be right for you.
STEP 3: Attend Volunteer Orientation
Generally offered once a month, Volunteer Orientation covers everything you need to know to get started as an SMART Volunteer. Some opportunities require additional training.
Group Volunteers
Groups support our mission by volunteering placing stickers on books, move books, helping to maintain our SMART Garden, and more. Maximum group size varies from 5-20 based on the activity.

STEP 2: Speak with SMART! Once you've submitted below, staff will reach out to you to speak about your groups interest and begin to determine which volunteer opportunities could be right for the group.
